Once upon a time, this was Star-Lord. In 1976, Star-Lord made his first appearance in the pages of Marvel-Preview Presents magazine. Different times, different kinds of heroes, same characters. While the designs have evolved since these days, the stories, well… have pretty much been told over and over. I dig the technique on the background of this classic cover.
… is a thing of beauty!
It reminds me of this Alex Ross piece. ↓ Both are an absolute win in my book🙂
Kanan discovers that things are not always black and white. It’s time to hear from the middle, the Grey. This excites me for more than we will be delving into the philosophy of the many facets of the Force, we will also get to hear from the fourth Doctor… MY Doctor. Tom Baker crosses the genre streams and becomes, what could possibly be, an integral part of Luke Skywalker’s inevitable journey.
May the Fourth be with us all.
Today marks the 5oth year of Star Trek. There may have been gaps, here and there, but Gene Roddenberry’s construct has been constant as the Northern Star. Where will it go from here? Pay-Per-View. We’ll see how well that model does for them. Time will tell. Until then… Peace and Long Life.
Check out this awesome post from the blog of Dial-B-For-Blog about this story by Edwin Hamilton from Action Comics number 314. Drawn by Curt Swan, this is a fantastical tale from DC comic’s technicolor Silver Age. They really don’t make them like this anymore, and I doubt if they could or even that it would be acceptable by today’s standards.
Visit Dial-B-For-Blog’s post here: dialbforblog.com/archives/306. I was reminded of the awesome tale by Thomas Perkins, @TNPerkins4 on Twitter, this morning. Swing over and check out his awesome artistic skills.
Jack Kirby. Jack KING Kirby. It’s important to note that he was one of the MOST influential artists in the comic book industry. If not one of than THE most. His style is the most recognisable and elements of it can be found in many of my favorite artists of my youth and even today. Read the rest of this entry
I cannot wait for this film. I am looking forward to it more than Episode 8! How many times have I watched these? I have no idea, but it has been more time than I view the trailer for The Force Awakens. Having another female lead is very cool, along with the diversity of the cast. The planet Jedha and it’s inhabitants intrigue me the most. I’ll also be watching for any easter eggs that hint at anything from Rebels🙂
